CANON OFFERS NEW PERSONAL COPIERS

U.S.-based Canon Inc. launched two new families of personal copiers to the North American market last week. The lines are called the PC 700 and the PC 400. The PC 700 family consists of one copier called the PC 735. It can copy 10-pages-per-minute. In addition, the machine features multiple paper feeding, and a single sheet by-pass tray for standard or non-standard copy paper such as overhead transparencies and card stock. The PC 400 family consists of two copiers, the PC 420 and PC 430. Both machines are entry-level products and feature a clamshell design to easily retrieve misfed paper. In addition, they have an auto shut-off feature so the machine will shut down when it is idle for just over five minutes. In Canada, Canon has no plans to promote the copiers through advertising.
