TV STATION CAN GO AFTER WINNIPEG ADS
By Adnews Staff
Television station MTN of Portage, Manitoba has been given the right to sell ads in Winnipeg for the next seven years. The Canadian Radio-television Telecommunications Commission approved the move because two Winnipeg stations, CKY and CKND, formed a cooperative advertising sales and production arm last year, which could put MTN at a competitive disadvantage. MTN had not been allowed to solicit advertising in Winnipeg since 1986. The station is owned by Craig Broadcast Systems.
