LABATT TO SPONSOR SPORTS NET HOCKEY

Toronto-based Labatt Breweries of Canada has signed a four year agreement to sponsor one National Hockey League game a week on CTV Sports Net beginning in October. The deal also includes title sponsorship and on-air features. CTV Sports Net is a regional sports channel that will launch in September. CTV will air up to an additional five games during the regular season, as well as 14 games featuring U.S.-based teams during the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The broadcasts will be available nationally, but will have the ability to feature different games in the different regional cable markets in Canada. CTV will broadcast in four regions, Pacific, West, Central and East. CTV Sports Net is 40% owned by Baton Broadcasting Inc.
