3DO GAMES PACT

Matsushita Electric Industrial and Panasonic Software Company have signed a letter of intent with Williams Entertainment for worldwide distribution of games made by Williams for the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer system. Matsushita and Panasonic have a right of first refusal for exclusive worldwide distribution rights of the games, under the deal. Under its own brand name, Panasonic will publish and distribute the 3DO version of current and future titles Williams produces, as well as selected past titles. Some of the first games will be available before Christmas. Matsushita develops and distributes hardware and software for the 3DO, a 32-bit video game system that can also be used for showing photographs, playing music and running movies, all from compact disc. Panasonic Software markets and develops software for 3DO in the U.S. Williams is owned by arcade game giant WMS Industries.
