VALUE PLUS INFOMERCIALS

Canadian-based infomercial channel Value Plus Network hopes to keep advertisers in Canada by running full-motion infomercials during prime viewing hours. According to the Canadian Direct Marketing Association, about $100 million in revenue has gone to the U.S. because advertisers have been able to use full-motion infomercials in prime time there for many years. This is something that was only recently approved for Canada, when the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission ruled in favor of full-motion infomercials 24-hours-a-day. Value Plus says it will carry a minimum of 60% Canadian programming.
