INTUIT PREPARES FOR 1998

Intuit Canada Ltd. of Toronto launched a radio campaign this week for the updated version of its QuickBooks accounting software. The ads focus on the program's 40 new features, which include being able to use QuickBooks with the Internet to access such things as stock quotes and personal credit card balances. QuickBooks is targeted to small businesses or entrepreneurs that employ less than 24 people.

Separately, Intuit introduced the 1998 version of its personal tax software this week. Called QuickTax, the program guides users through the income tax form and does all the calculations. It will also ask questions to make sure the user hasn't missed any deductions. Intuit will launch a radio campaign for QuickTax beginning next week. Both campaigns will air in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa, Winnipeg and Saskatoon. They were created by RadioWorks Inc. of Toronto. The ads are supported by co-op advertising with retailers.
