CANWEST INCREASES IRELAND PRESENCE

CanWest International Communications has increased its stake in Ulster TV to approximately 8.38%. Ulster TV is the television service provider in Northern Ireland. Last month, CanWest signed a broadcasting agreement with the Irish Independent Radio and Telecommunications Commission to operate TV3 in the Republic of Ireland. CanWest International Communications is owned by CanWest Global Communications of Winnipeg. Internationally, the company has interests in Australia Network Ten, New Zealand's TV3 and TV4 television networks and the More FM radio network.
