P&G GOES WITH ONE U.S. TV MEDIA BUYING AGENCY

Procter & Gamble of Cincinnati, Ohio has consolidated its $1.2 billion TV buying assignment with TeleVest of New York. The move is effective for the 1998-99 broadcast year. Other agencies short-listed for the business were: Leo Burnett USA of Chicago, as well as Grey Advertising and Zenith Media, both of New York. TeleVest already handled most of P&G's media billings before the review. In Canada, P&G will choose its TV media buying agency by the end of the year. Short-listed Canadian agencies are: Leo Burnett, Bensimon Byrne/DMB&B and Grey Canada, all of Toronto. P&G decided to consolidate its media buying to give it more flexibility in TV media planning and buying.
