NEW REFERENCE ON ABORIGINAL TOURISM
By Adnews Staff
The Aboriginal Tourism Authority of Calgary will begin publishing a resource book on Canada's aboriginal tourism industry in January. Called the Journal of Aboriginal Tourism, the book will cover subjects including what it means to keep aboriginal cultural identity, and why tourists are allowed into certain aspects of aboriginal life and not others. The book will also profile product development, such as a new Teepee village in Western Canda where people can live in teepees for a weekend to experience the aboriginal lifestyle. The Journal of Aboriginal Tourism will be available by subscription. Currently, it has about 500 paid subscribers and expects to have 1,500 subscribers by January.
