LCBO TELLS YOU TO MAKE IT YOURSELF

The Liquor Control Board of Ontario is getting into the bottle-your-own wine business. The crown corporation launched a pilot program at a Toronto outlet last week where customers can come in and bottle their own wine at the store. The wine is stored in tanks at the outlet. Customers can bottle, cork and custom label their win at the store. The LCBO designed the project because "there's been customer interest in lower-priced bulk wine," media relations co-ordinator Chris Layton told Adnews this week. The LCBO is targeting people who want to buy wine in bulk, but don't have the time or space to make their own. The LCBO will gauge consumer interest to "get a handle on how well the program is working. When we feel comfortable we will look at the possibility of other locations," said Layton.
