RESEARCH TO STUDY YOUTH CULTURE

The Angus Reid Group and youth research specialty firm X-metrica plan to conduct a survey looking at youth and popular culture in North America. The study will begin in January and be available next summer. Titled The popCulture Report, the study will provide insights into the latest signs, symbols and trends in pop culture. The study will be done in three phases. The first will involve 50 business interviews with North American figures in the major cultural industries. The second portion will invlove interviewers talking to youth patrons of bars, clubs, hang-outs, lofts and lounges in Seattle, Los Angeles, Toronto, Vancouver, Miami, New York and Chicago. The third phase will test the findings from the first two phases against the reality of mainstream youth via 24 focus groups across eight regions in Middle America and suburban Canada.
