ROYAL BANK EXPANDS LOYALTY PROGRAM

Home Hardware has joined Royal Bank's customer reward program. Under the deal, customers will collect one point for every dollar spent using their Royal Bank Visa Classic II cards. For every $2,500 spent, they will receive a gift certificate to purchase items at Home Hardware. RadioShack and Eaton's are also involved in the program. Thirty-seven other retailers across Canada provide on-the-spot discounts for Classic II users. The Visa Classic II card also provides 90-day insurance against theft, loss or damage on all purchases, as well as extensions to manufacturers' warranties. Home Hardware's involvement in the program is being supported with print ads in national newspapers and in community newspapers where the retailer has a large presence. The campaign was created by The Gingko Group of Toronto.
