TOURISM INDUSTRY PROMOTES VANCOUVER

Tourism Vancouver has teamed up with Budget Rent A Car of Toronto to promote the city. The duo has launched a contest by which Canadian Budget customers can win one of two deluxe trips to Vancouver. All Budget customers renting a vehicle in Vancouver between now and Dec. 15, and/or between January 8 and Feb. 28 will automatically be entered in the contest. The vacation includes return airfare in Air Canada's Executive Class, one-week luxury-car rental from budget, one-week accommodation at the Westin Bayshore or the Hyatt Regency Vancouver, $1,000 spending money, a $1,000 gift certificate for Agfa film products, a $200 AT&T Canada prepaid long-distance card, $100 gift certificate for dinner for two and theatre tickets. Budget is promoting the contest using counter cards, direct mail and print ads in community newspapers. The campaign was created by Echo Advertising of Toronto. The other partners in the contest are also supporting the contest through advertising.
