A&W CHOOSES COMMUNIQUE

The Communique Group of Toronto has landed the A&W Food Services Canada account. The agency won the business earlier this month after a competition with Young & Rubicam of Toronto. Originally, there were two other agencies on the short list as well: Bryant, Fulton & Shee of Vancouver and incumbent BBDO Canada's Vancouver office. A&W had spoken to 15 agencies from Toronto, Vancouver and Seattle. The next campaign for A&W will begin in March. It will use TV, radio and direct mail. A&W spent $1.7 million on advertising last year.
