BANK OF MONTREAL TRIES TO MAKE MUTUAL FUNDS SIMPLE

The Bank of Montreal is gearing up for the investment season. The bank launched a TV ad last week to promote its MatchMaker investment service. The ad features an overwhelmed investor entering the office of a financial advisor to buy mutual funds. The investor is instructed to put his head in a large vice and is shown countless charts and graphs while the advisor explains the various mutual fund options in very complicated terms. The message is that MatchMaker provides a quick and painless way to find the right mix of funds. The ad was created by Vickers & Benson Advertising of Toronto.
