VISA AND CBC PROMOTE OLYMPIC TIES

Visa Canada Association of Toronto and the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. have teamed up to promote their support of the 1998 Olympic Games in Nagano, Japan. The two launched a campaign earlier this month using Visa statement inserts, a TV ad and Internet advertising. The bill inserts let cardholders enter a draw worth a total of $37,000 in Visa credits. There is also a scratch and win prize of $25,000. Visa will match this prize with a $25,000 donation to the Canadian Bobsleigh team. The inserts also let people know that the CBC is the official Canadian broadcaster of the Olympics and gives them CBC's Olympic Web site address. The mailing also points cardholders to Visa's Olympic Web site, which will allow them to enter the sweepstakes and provides access to both the official Olympic and the CBC Olympic sites. The inserts and Internet ads were created by M Marketing Services of Toronto. The TV ad was created by the CBC in conjunction with M Marketing.
