DEVICE OFFERS INCREASED TRUCK SAFETY

Wheel-Check Safety Inc. of Oakville, Ont. will begin distributing a device in Canada this week that will keep truck wheels in place. Called Wheel-Check, the British invention provides a clear visual check of wheel nuts and posts, identifying loose wheel nuts and defective posts. It also identifies overheated brakes and bearings. Wheel-Check will be available in the U.S. by the end of November and in Mexico and South America by the end of the year. Wheel-Check Safety has acquired the patent rights to distribute Wheel-Check throughout North America. It will be promoted in trade print ads created by Communicad of Unionville, Ont. The device will be distributed through Truck Equipment & Service of Toronto and Road Safety East Inc. of Montreal. Wheel-Check has been used in Britain for three years.
