INSURANCE COMPANY EXPANDS YOUNG DRIVERS PROGRAM

The Co-operators of Guelph, Ont. has expanded its Safe Driving Reward Program to New Brunswick. Under the program, drivers aged 16 to 22 sign a partnership agreement which includes a commitment to drive safely and have no traffic violations or at-fault accidents for three years. Their driving behavior is reviewed annually with a representative of the company. Those who remain accident and conviction-free will be rewarded in the fourth year, which will consist of a one-year discount on Compulsory Auto Coverage and Family Protection Endorsement. The program will be promoted through local agents. The Safe Driving Reward Program was launched last November in Alberta and has since moved into the Yukon and Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, PEI and Ontario. The Co-operators is looking into promoting the program in Ontario by the end of the year. Wunderman Cato Johnson of Toronto handles advertising for The Co-operators.
