MEDIALINX AND CANOE LAUNCH INTERNET ADVERTISING COMPANY

MediaLinx Interactive and Canadian Online Explorer have teamed up to launch an Internet advertising company. Called NETFORCE, the firm will sell advertising on the Sympatico and CANOE Web sites, which NETFORCE says generate more than 35 million page views per month. Current clients include Bayer Inc., Canada Trust, Colgate-Palmolive, General Motors of Canada, IBM Canada, Microsoft Canada, Sun Microsystems, Warner-Lambert and Wrigley. Canoe is 60% owned by Sun Media Corp. and 40% by BCE Media Investments. MediaLinx is owned by BCTel, Bell Canada, IslandTel, MT&T and NBTel.
