POINTCAST OFFERS UPGRADED SOFTWARE

Toronto-based PointCast Canada has upgraded its software to enable any Canadian Web publisher to broadcast the information on its site via a Connections channel. The new software is called Version 2.0. PointCast delivers personalized, up-to-the-minute boradcasts of current business, national and world news directly to users' computers via the Internet. Version 2.0 is a 32-bit application offering faster performance in 16-bit and 32-bit environments. It supports webcasts and lets companies create business-to-business extranet broadcasts. Radio advertising in Toronto and Vancouver will promote Version 2.0 beginning next month. Print ads in The Globe and Mail began this week. The campaign was created by Bensimon Byrne DMB&B of Toronto. Environics Communications of Toronto is doing PR.
