CANADIAN TIRE OPENS NEW STORE

Canadian Tire Corp. opened a new Associate Store in Toronto late last month. The outlet replaces a smaller Canadian Tire store in the neighborhood. At 104,000 square feet in size, the store features an automotive department at the front of the store. New product areas inlcude pet supplies, personal security, indoor plants and fresh-cut flowers, a plumbing area and a 21,000 square foot outdoor Garden Centre. The new outlet is being promoted using radio ads and flyers in community newspapers and The Toronto Star. It will also be supported in a two-page insert in Canadian Tire's national flyer. Broadcast advertising for Canadian Tire is done by Doner Schur Peppler of Toronto. Flyers are created in-house. Canadian Tire has 428 Associate stores across Canada.
