SAMSUNG GOES AFTER VIDEO GAMERS

Samsung Electronics of Japan is targeting video game enthusiasts with its newest TV launched earlier this month in North America. Called GXTV, the 13-inch TV is built for serious video gamers, featuring surround sound and a 21-watt three-way speaker system. The surround sound setting automatically equalizes sound quality and clarity based on the video game genre. The TV is set in an arcade depth bezel which is mounted onto an adjustable swivel stand. Samsung says the design allows the gamer optimum viewing and the ability to control and customize the playing angle. Multiple a/v jacks make it possible to hook-up more than one video game at a time, connect CD players, personal stereo cassette players or stereo headphones. In Canada, Samsung advertising is done by Group Multimedia Network of Toronto.
