H-P TO SHIP FULL-FUNCTION REWRITABLE DRIVE

U.S.-based Hewlett-Packard will introduce a full-function CD-rewriteable drive to the North American market next month. Called the SureStore CD-Writer Plus drive, the product will provide business and home users with up to 650MB of rewritable, removable capacity and will retain compatibility with other CDs in use today. SureStore allows users of conventional and recordable CDs at work or home to store, transport, retrieve, archive, share and modify files such as personal document management files, complex documents and presentations, large projects or entire working directories. Home PC users can use the product as an extension of their system hard-drive capacity, using it as a temporary storage of Internet information or as a means to create custom family photo albums. In Canada, Hewlett-Packard will incorporate SureStore in print ads for all of its storage products. It will be created by Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising of Toronto.
