A&P JOINS LOYALTY PROGRAM

The Great Atlantic & Pacific of Canada is trying to get consumers to stay loyal. The company is now a sponsor of the Loyalty Group's Air Miles Reward Program. The program will be offered at 180 grocery stores owned by the A&P. They are: A&P, Super Fresh, Dominion, Ultra Food & Drug and Miracle Food Mart grocery stores. Air Miles collectors will be given one travel mile for every $20 spent on grocery purchases, excluding prescription drugs, tobacco and lottery, on a cumulative basis over a one-week period. Bonus air miles will also be offered on selected products each week. A&P is promoting its participation in the Air Miles program using radio ads created by Bozell Worldwide of Toronto. Flyers, created in-house are also being used. The Loyalty Group of Toronto is promoting its new sponsor using TV ads created by Wunderman, Cato, Johnson of Toronto.
