SURPRISE CONES OFFER PROMOTIONAL OPPORTUNITIES

First Avenue of Toronto is handling promotional opportunities for the Surprise Cone Bonus Pack. The product, which has been on the market since February, is targeted at families with children aged three to 10. The cone contains toys and trinkets, as well as a family bonus pack insert in which companies can promote their products through contests, coupons and samples. In 1997 First Avenue will publish 100,000 inserts. In 1998 there will be four quarterly inserts of 250,000 pieces. In addition, there will be limited opportunities for targeted gender specific inserts and product sampling. It may also be possible to sponsor editorial content or special issues or themes. The cones are assembled by FTC Toys Ltd. of Toronto. The cone is available at major retail outlets including Wal-Mart, Zellers, The Bay, Bi-Way, Canadian Tire and K-Mart.
