MAXXMEDIA HANDED MEDIA PORTION OF FERRERO ACCOUNT
By Adnews Staff
MAXXMEDIA of Toronto is now handling media planning and buying for Ferrero Canada of Toronto. The agency was chosen late last month after a review with other undisclosed agencies. Ferrero chose MAXXMEDIA because agency president David Chung worked on the account when he was at Lowe/SMS of Toronto. Lowe had the business until it was merged with Roche, Macaulay & Partners Advertising of Toronto last year. According to ACNielsen, Ferrero spent $3.5 million on advertising in 1996. A campaign will be launched in the fall. Garneau, Wurstlin & Philp Brand Engineering of Toronto recently got the creative portion of the account. Ferrero's main brands are Ferrero Rocher chocolates, Nutella sandwich spread, Kinder Surprise chocolate and Tic Tac breath mints. MAXXMEDIA is the media management company owned by Vickers and Benson Companies Ltd.
