CHRYSLER PROMOTES TRANS CANADA TRAIL

Chrysler Canada of Windsor, Ont. launched a promotion last week where each customer will receive recognition for helping to build one metre of the Trans Canada Trail if they purchase or lease a new vehicle between June 30 and Sept. 30. The Trans Canada Trail will wind its way through every province and territory, linking thousands of communities along its route. It will accommodate five activities: walking, cycling, horseback riding, cross-country skiing and snowmobiling. Chrysler is founding sponsor of the trail. Under its promotion, customers will receive a certiticate and each name will be permanently imprinted in a trail pavilion. The promotion is being supported using print and TV ads. The print ads offer more detail about the trail and the consumer promotion. The TV ads are generic ads that carry the message about the trail. The campaign was created by BBDO Retail of Toronto for English Canada, while the Quebec campaign was done by PNMD of Montreal.
