BRAZIL DEREGULATES AGENCY COMMISSION

The Brazilian government is deregulating the payment of ad agency commissions because the law has been consistently ignored. According to the current law, marketers could pay their ad agencies 20% commission for media and 15% for production. Industry leaders, such as those belonging to the Brazilian Advertising Agencies Association, are creating a voluntary set of guidelines that stipulates that commissions for media be set at around 15%. A group has been set up to ensure the guidelines are being obeyed.
