IBM BRINGS DVD TECHNOLOGY TO APTIVA

U.S.-based International Business Machines Corp. will introduce two new computers to its Aptiva line of machines later this month. The new machines are called the C3D and the S35 and will be available in North America. The C3D features Aptiva's first DVD-ROM with DVD movie playback. Increased storage capacity lets users play DVD games and movies or play existing CD-ROM games and software titles. The C3D also lets users connect their home PCs to their TVs and stereos for movie playback. The S35 features a 6.4GB hard drive and an Intel 233MHz Pentium processor with MMX technology. In Canada, the new machines will be promoted in print ads in national daily newspapers. The ads will be created by Ogilvy & Mather of Toronto. Goodman Communications of Toronto handles Canadian PR for IBM.
