MTS TO TEST ALL-IN-ONE MESSAGING SERVICE

MTS Advanced of Winnipeg will begin testing its new messaging service in Manitoba in July. Called the Ultimate Messaging Service, it will give users one-stop access to their voice, fax and e-mail messages anywhere in the world. They will be able to access messages through the Internet, by any standard telephone or by cellular phone, as well as receive and send messages from one mailbox. The service can also notify users through an alphanumeric pager when a message has arrived, and forward full-length e-mail and fax messages to any fax machine worldwide. The trial will run until September. If it is successful, the Ultimate Messaging Service will be rolled out nationally early next year. Advertising for MTS Advanced is done by Palmer Jarvis Advertising of Vancouver. MTS Advanced is a multimedia and directory publishing company, and is a subisdiary Manitoba's telephone company, MTS. The service was developed by Telinet Technologies.
