CINEPLEX HYPES NEWEST DINOSAUR MOVIE

Toronto-based Cineplex Odeon Corp. kicked off the debut of The Lost World on the weekend with a series of promotions. The theatre chain held around-the-clock screenings of the movie at two Toronto theatres, giving out posters to patrons of early morning showings. Discount coupons for a dinosaur exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum were given away and show-goers had a chance too win one of three trips to the Royal Tyrell Museum of Palaentonology in Drumheller, Alberta. Consumers who purchased a minimum of $25 worth of cineplex Odeon gift certificates could buy a copy of the original blockbuster movie Jurassic Park for $3.99. The promotions were supported using radio and in-theatre advertising done in-house.
