JWT CAMPAIGN DRAWS JAPANESE INTEREST

A recent outdoor campaign for the Discovery Channel in Canada has caught the interest of the same channel in Japan. J. Walter Thompson of Toronto created the ads. The agency's Japanese office handles advertising for the Japanese Discovery Channel. The JWT Toronto campaign, which ran from January until April, featured three executions entitled Crocodile, Space Man and White-Water Rafting. The Crocodile execution, featuring a red lounge chair between the jaws of a crocodile, was a particular favorite of the Japanese. JWT Japan has adopted the red chair as a visual identity piece for a total branding strategy developed for the Japanese Discovery Channel and will use the image across all communications.
