LOOKWEST MAGAZINE CHANGES FOCUS
By Adnews Staff
Western Canadian fashion and lifestyle magazine LOOKwest has moved its office to Vancouver to reflect the publication's change in focus and distribution. It was known as a Western Canadian magazine, but it now covers Vancouver and the Lower Mainland exclusively. LOOKwest, which has been publishing for four years, had formerly been based in Calgary. Beginning with the September issue, distribution of LOOKwest will increase from 50,000 copies to 65,000. The magazine will be distributed to select shopping malls and retailers in the Vancouver area which will purchase subscriptions for their customers. Jennifer Taylor, LOOKwest's marketing and sales director, said the changes came after a reader survey showed respondents wanted the magazine to carry more Vancouver-based editorial content. LOOKwest is available six times a year. Local advertising sales are handled by the magazine's Vancouver office, while national sales are handled by the Toronto-based Magazine Network. LOOKwest is produced by LOOKwest Publishing.
