CAF BEARS NEW NAME

The Canadian Advertising Foundation has changed its name to Advertising Standards Council/Les normes canadiennes de la publicite to better reflect what the organization does. "The new name far better describes our mission as the advertising industry's self-regulation body," president and CEO Linda Nagel says in a release. In addition, the organization has re-elected last year's executive committee for 1997/98. All members are now in their second term. Peter Elwood remains as chair, Ron Hutchinson, Susan Lenard and Jacques Lefebvre are vice-chairs, John Sinclair is the treasurer and Ron Lund is member-at-large. Linda Nagel continues as president and CEO. ASC is the industry's self regulation body. Its 225 members include advertisers, agencies, media organizations and suppliers to the advertising sector.
