By Adnews Staff
After several false starts, ExpressVu Inc. of Mississauga, Ont. says it will have its direct-to-home satellite TV service up and running in the summer. Initially it will offer 100 channels using a 24-inch satellite dish. In September 1998, ExpressVu will provide 180 channels using an 18-inch dish.It will be able to do so because the company has bought 17 of the 32 transponders that will be available on Telsat Canada's new DBS Satellite. Advertising plans for the service will be announced at a later date. Communique of Toronto creates ads for ExpresVu, while Rapp Collins of Toronto handles its database and National Public Relations of Toronto does PR. Michael Skea has recently joined ExpressVu as marketing vice-president. He most recently held the same position at Astral Communications of Toronto.
