ROGERS TAPS INTO COGECO CABLE

As part of a November 1996 agreement, Rogers Cablesystems Inc. yesterday acquired shares of Cogeco Cable Inc. of Montreal. Rogers now holds approximately 8.3% of Cogeco's subordinate voting shares. Rogers says it has no plans to acquire further shares in Cogeco.
