ONE DAY CAMPAIGN MARKS DAY OF MOURNING

The United Steelworkers will conduct a one-day Ontario-wide ad blitz on April 28 to warn young workers about the risk of on-the-job injuries. April 28 is the national day of mourning for workers killed and injured on-the-job. The radio spots, running on over 70 Ontario stations, carry the tag line, "Know the risks, know your rights." It will air up to 32 times on each station. A print campaign running in both official languages and in ethnic publications will also carry the safety message. To reinforce the importance of safety at work, the Steelworkers are supporting an hour-long educational session on health and safety at high schools across the province. RadioWorks Inc. of Toronto handled the radio campaign. VP Communications of Toronto will coordinate the educational sessions and created the written portion of the print ads. Freelancer Brigitte Neukomm handled the artwork on the print executions.
