Award: IABC Toronto Communicator of the Year

IABC Toronto has named Rebecca Shields as the recipient of its Mattamy 2024 Communicator of the Year award. Shields is the CEO of the Canadian Mental Health Association for York Region and South Simcoe. According to the organization, the award recognizes her communication leadership, her commitment to mental health advocacy and her work in fostering inclusive communities.
“Receiving the IABC Toronto Communicator of the Year Award is a profound honour,” said Shields. “Communication is the foundation of belonging, and it is through shared understanding and collaboration that we can create communities where everyone feels supported, connected and valued. This recognition inspires me to continue championing mental health and inclusion across all sectors.”
