MOTOROLA SET TO SERVE UP SPEEDY MAC CLONES

Motorola Computer Group of Arizona is preparing to add a 300 Mhz system to its line of StarMax computers in mid-May. Called the StarMax 5000/300, the new model will be available in North America and will feature Mac OS 7.6, a 512 K L2 cache, a 16X CD-ROM drive, 5 PCI slots, a 4.3 GB drive, 10BaseT Ethernet, 4 MB VRAM, a 100MB Iomega Zip drive and software utility packages. For graphics professionals, Motorola will include a version of the new model with an IMS Twin Turbo video card. In addition, Motorola will update current StarMax models to include Mac OS 7.6, an internal SCSI connector and an adapter to allow customers to use either a Mac or PC monitor.
