VisitBritain releases accent game

UK-based tourism organization VisitBritain has begun a promotion in Canada and other countries called “Fake (Br)it Till You Make It.” The promotion takes the form of an online game at <https://www.visitbritain.com> that encourages consumers to test their ability to recognize various British accents. The intent is to highlight the country’s regional diversity and to attract tourists. The game is being supported with social media content and influencer activities, as well as digital and audio advertising.

“Our priority is to harness the strong recovery and growth we have seen from Canada, and we are delighted to be running this dedicated and playful campaign, tapping into motivations to travel right now,” said Paul Gauger, executive vice-president for the Americas, Australia and New Zealand at VisitBritain. “This innovative game puts Britain's diversity front and centre, using modern technology to engage players, tell the story of our dynamic destinations and inspire Canadian visitors to discover more, stay longer and explore year-round.”
