GLOBAL INTRODUCES 56 KBPS MODEMS

U.S.-based Global Village Communications will introduce two new 56 Kbps fax/modems to the North American market in May. Called the TelePort 56 family of fax/ modems, the products are made for Macintosh computers and offer a choice of x2 or K56flex technologies. In the U.S., the modems will be promoted in Macintosh trade publications created by the company's U.S. agency. In Canada, Global Village will likely rely on spillover advertising from the U.S. If it does decide to advertise, Global Village will use creative from the U.S., while media buying will be done in-house. Canadian PR for Global Village is done by Atkins & Ellis of Toronto. Global Village makes fax/modems, speakerphone and paging communications, communication servers that combine fax, remote access and network modem for small business and workgroups and wireless Internet receivers.
