By Adnews Staff
Germany-based BMW will enter the cruiser motorcycle market this year when it releases the R1200C. The motorcycle is scheduled for a worldwide release this fall, but will hit the North American market in July. The R1200C is based on the Boxer generation launched in 1993. Weighing 265 kilograms in road trim, the motorcycle comes with an enlarged flat-twin Boxer engine, Telelever suspension technology, digital motor electronics and a three-way catalytic converter. An anti-lock braking system is also available. Tony Fletcher, BMW Canada's national motorcycle manager, said advertising for the motorcycle will begin when the R1200C is released in Canada. Griffin Bacal Volny of Toronto handles Canadian advertising for BMW's motorcycles.
