Scotiabank sponsors Little Free Library
By Adnews Staff
Scotiabank has begun an initiative with non-profit organization Little Free Library intended to provide more access to books to underserved communities. Little Free Library operates a collection of publicly-accessible free book exchanges that individuals can have installed at their homes. Through this initiative, Scotiabank will fun the construction of Little Free Libraries for installation in neighbourhoods where few are currently located. Scotiabank will also donate copies of this year's Scotiabank Giller Prize shortlisted novels to the organization.
“At Scotiabank, we are proud of our partnership with the Giller Foundation and the role we play in bringing the works of many talented Canadian authors to readers from coast to coast to coast,” said Laura Curtis Ferrera, chief marketing officer at Scotiabank. “Putting new Little Free Libraries in communities across the country is one way that we can work towards making great Canadian literature more accessible for all.”
