REVLON REVS UP ADVERTISING FOR OSCARS

U.S.-based cosmetic giant Revlon debuted two new ads during the Oscar Awards broadcast last night. Featuring model Cindy Crawford and actor Melanie Griffith, the spots tout ColorStay Lipcolor lipstick and Age Defying Make-Up. The ColorStay spot, starring Crawford, demonstrates the product's "won't kiss off" quality. It also promotes the newest addition to the ColorStay line, a lipstick containing Vitamin E and aloe. In the Age Defying spot, Griffith says, "Don't lie about your age; defy it," as close-ups and long-shots of the actor play across the screen. In addition, Revlon will be running spots for its Very Currant spring color collection, featuring Crawford and actor Halle Berry. New York-based Tarlow handled the ads. A Revlon Canada spokesperson said there are no immediate plans to run the ads in Canada. New York-based Revlon markets cosmetics, skin care, fragrance, personal care and professional care products. Revlon brands include Revlon, ColorStay, Revlon Age Defying, Almay, Ultima II and Charlie.
