CINEPLEX INTRODUCES NEW AD MEDIUM IN THEATRES

Toronto-based Cineplex Odeon Corp. will launch a new theatre advertising medium next month. Called CinePromotion kiosks, the medium will consist of custom designed backlit posters in 100 theatre lobbies across Canada. The kiosks can feature pamphlets, contest entry forms and built-in ballot boxes. Advertisers already signed up for the deal include Hershey Canada and General Mills. Cineplex says advertisers can expect to reach a projected audience of more than 2.5 million people during a four-week posting.
