B.C. PR FIRM GRABS PHARMACEUTICAL ACCOUNT

Helix BioPharma Corp. of Richmond, B.C., a biotechnology and pharmaceutical company, recently awarded its PR account to the Barr & Wilcox Group of Vancouver. Barr & Wilcox got the first-time account after a competition involving two other agencies. Sarah Temple, a Barr & Wilcox spokesperson, told Adnews the agency won the business because it had a proven track record of handling media relations for publicly-held companies, and has experience with other biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms. Other Barr & Wilcox clients include Starbucks, Canadian Direct Insurance, Virgin Entertainment Group and Planet Hollywood.
