Mackenzie resumes Top Peak contest

Toronto-based Mackenzie Investments has begun its second annual "Mackenzie Top Peak" skiing-themed contest. The national promotion invites Canadian ski communities to conduct social media activities or live events intended to attract consumers to their ski hills. The winning entrant will receive $50,000 to spend on a community project. The contest will run until March 27. The winner will be determined by a panel of judges.

In addition, the company will conduct a consumer contest for prizes of $500 to $1,000 in contributions to Registered Education Savings Plans and Registered Retirement Savings Plans. Beginning Feb. 25, skiers can enter by taking a photograph with the contest logo located on participating ski hills. Promotional workers at these hills will distribute branded ski buffs, some of which will contain winning "golden tickets."

"We're thrilled to launch the second edition of the Top Peak program during a season that is expected to see skiers across the country return to the slopes in force," said Barry McInerney, president and CEO of Mackenzie Investments. "Our communities have come together and persevered through the roller coaster of the last two ski seasons, and that's reason to celebrate and engage in some friendly competition."
