OCEAN SPRAY SPONSORS SKATING TOUR

Ocean Spray International Services Inc. announced this week that it will be sponsoring a national skating tour set to kick off in early May. Called the 1997 Skate the Nation Tour, the event will feature the best in Canadian skating talent including Kurt Browning, Brian Orser, Elizabeth Manley, Josee Chouinard, Susan Humphreys and Sebastien Britten. Pairs skaters appearing will include: Michelle McDonald and Martin Smith; Michelle Menzies and Jean-Michel Bombardier; and Kristy Sargent and Kris Wirtz. The tour will begin in Victoria, British Columbia and wind up in Saint John, New Brunswick on May 18, visiting 11 communities. Ocean Spray officials could not be reached to comment on possible advertising plans, but the company will be using the event to allow skating fans to sample its newest beverage, CranCurrent black current cranberry cocktail. Cohn & Wolfe of Toronto is handling PR for the skating tour. Anderson Advertising of Toronto is Ocean Spray's Canadian agency of record.
