COREL TAKES PHOTO SOFTWARE OUT OF GRAPHICS SUITE
By Adnews Staff
Ottawa-based Corel Corp. launched its Photo-Paint 7 software as a stand-alone program to the worldwide market this week. The photo-editing software is a 32-bit application that runs on Windows 95 and Windows NT 4.0. The program lets users apply 12 different color and tone effects to images without permanently modifying the underlying pixels. Other features include: Internet graphic file formats, automatic drop shadow effect, Kodak Digital Science Color Management System, rules, grids and guidelines and command recording, editing and playback. Print advertising for the software will support the launch. It will be created in-house. In the past, Photo-Paint 7 was only available as part of the CorelDRAW 7 graphics suite.
