H-P UNLEASHES LARGE FORMAT PRINTERS

California-based Hewlett-Packard Co. introduced two large format printers to the North American market this week geared to print-service providers and design professionals. Called the HP DesignJet 2500CP and 2000CP, the printers feature a large-capacity ink system for unattended printing. Both machines print on a variety of papers and films from letter-size up to three feet wide by 150 feet long. The 2500CP features a two gigabyte hard drive and 20 megabytes of RAM, upgradeable to 68MB. The 2000CP has 8 megabytes of RAM, upgradeable to 68MB. Canadian trade advertising for the printers will be launched by fall. It will be created by Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising of Toronto.
